About Secure Data Rooms
Secure Data Rooms is a buyer's guide to secure data rooms, published by the team behind Papermark. We publish every provider's real price, compare rooms on the controls that protect a deal, and say plainly where a competitor is the better choice.
Who publishes this site
The site is written and maintained by the founders of Papermark, the data room platform that this site recommends for startups, fundraising and lean deal teams. We say this on every page that ranks providers because it is the most important fact a reader needs to weigh our verdicts. The source code of the site is public at github.com/papermark/datarooms.
How we make money
Papermark benefits when a reader chooses it. No other provider pays for placement, a score, a ranking position or a verdict, and links to providers other than Papermark carry rel="nofollow". The weights behind every ranking are published on the editorial policy page so the result can be checked. Papermark leads the value-weighted ranking because published pricing and total cost carry 30% of the score; it does not lead where the process needs managed Q&A at enterprise scale, and those pages route readers to Datasite, Intralinks or iDeals.
What we verify
- Prices come from vendor pricing pages and are dated. Papermark's price on this site is the Data Rooms plan at $99/month on annual billing, last checked October 18, 2026.
- Quote-only vendors are shown with reported ranges from independent sources and are labelled as estimates, never as list prices.
- Security controls are listed from vendor documentation and, where a trial exists, checked in a live room. 12 providers are currently profiled.
- "Last updated" changes only when the content materially changes.
